Wonders Of Sri Lanka

  1. Holaceylon will provide you with luxury travel by car, or comfortable van. The roads are usually well made, and there are now two useful highways. For some variety in your travel experience Holaceylon can arrange a train trips, which in the hills can be spectacular, or local rides in tuk-tuks which are also interesting and exciting.
  2. Expert advice from Holaceylon will direct you to wonderful beaches, some busy, some deserted, found all around the island. Beach activities thrive – be they surfing, swimming, snorkelling or diving. There are two monsoons (SW and NE) but at all seasons there are beaches offering the conditions and activities you are looking for.
  3. At the heart of Sri Lanka is the gorgeous Hill Country, with its brilliantly green tea gardens, beautiful waterfalls, spectacular views and a distinct culture. There are many varied treks, and a superb train ride to Badulla. The high hills offer a cool relief from the coastal heat. Holaceylon will also arrange visits to tea factories and train tickets.
  4. Sri Lanka is very rich in wildlife. You are likely to see elephants, in the wild, or at the Elephant Orphanage, or at temples, or in processions. Leopards can regularly be seen in some national parks. 430 bird species (26 endemic) can be observed. Holaceylon will arrange jeep or boat safaris in the national parks, and sensational whale watching.
  5. Holaceylon will guide you through Sri Lanka’s extraordinary and turbulent 2600-year history and its many monuments, from ancient temples and reservoirs to colonial forts, towns, tea gardens and railways. The country has six historical UNESCO World Heritage sites. There are also many fine buildings erected after independence in 1948.
  6. The cultural diversity of Sri Lanka has determined its many religious sites – Buddhist and Hindu temples, mosques and churches. Holaceylon will suggest visits to the most important, or most picturesque. You may plan, or be lucky, to witness one of the great number of processions and festivals, and every Full Moon (poya) day is a holiday!
  7. You will discuss with Holaceylon the accommodation suited to your style and budget. The possibilities are very varied, from 5* ‘international’ luxury or ‘boutique’ hotels, to homestays and ‘local’ guest houses, and lodges in national parks. All over Sri Lanka there are spas, gyms, swimming pools and beaches where you can chill out and relax.
  8. Sri Lankan ‘rice and curry’, combines rice with a number of vegetarian and non-vegetarian curries. Fish is plentiful, as are additions from its complex heritage. Curries can be very ‘hot’, so Holaceylon can help you choose and ‘cool’ it down. Fruits abound: lager and arrack are the local alcoholic drinks. Sri Lanka is a feast!
